AXA has appointed Myriam Moufakkir as chief operating officer of Asian markets at AXA.
In her new role, she will continue to lead and transform the overall IT and operations capabilities across all lines of business in Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, China, the Philippines, Korea and Thailand, reporting directly to Gordon Watson, chief executive officer of Asia.
“I am confident that [Moufakkir] will make valuable contributions towards the development and leadership of the IT hubs in Manila and Kuala Lumpur, and help to realise the growth and ambitions of AXA in the Asian markets,” said Watson.
Moufakkir has more than two decades of experience in the insurance and financial sectors. After holding IT management positions with Banque Paribas and Aviva, she joined AXA Group in 2005, where she led large global transformation programmes, including multi-access and the global implementation of the AXA intranet platform.
“My vision is to develop high-performing IT hubs in [Manila and Kuala Lumpur] to become the preferred technology and service hubs for AXA entities in the region,” she said.
She joined AXA in the Asia region as transformation portfolio director in 2016, and was subsequently promoted to regional chief information officer for life and health.
